Seiya Matsushita was born on February 12, 1998, in Kashiwa, Chiba, Japan. He began playing the piano at the age of five and
started performing live as a singer-songwriter during his high school years. He graduated from Kunitachi College of Music,
majoring in Jazz Performance and Composition.

Since his student years, he has been active professionally as a pianist and vocalist, performing at leading jazz clubs, concert halls, and jazz festivals throughout Japan. While gaining recognition as a rare male jazz singer-pianist on the Japanese jazz scene, he has also been active as a composer and producer, supporting other artists and creating music for corporate projects.

His selected works include:
• Ototayori (2022), a collaborative album with Grammy Award–winning saxophonist Yosuke Sato
• Get on the Highway (2023), his major debut album released by T-TOC RECORDS
• Matcha (2024), released by Duo Mosaic, a duo project with singer Megami

On December 5, 2025, he released My Voice, My Piano, a solo piano-and-vocal album consisting entirely of jazz standards, from Bass Face Records.

His performances and recordings have been featured in major Japanese jazz media such as Jazz Life and Jazz in, receiving high critical acclaim. In addition to his performing career, he is deeply committed to music education. As the founder of Pivo Music School, he teaches young musicians, serves as an instructor at youth jazz camps, and gives career-education lectures at public schools, actively contributing to the development of the next generation.

He continues to perform extensively both in Japan and internationally, including tours in Europe. With a core artistic vision of “delivering the essence of music through voice and piano,” he works across the three fields of performance, music production, and education.
