SHOBI Jazz & Popular Music Summer Live 2026

I recently had the pleasure of performing as the headlining act at SHOBI Music College’s “Jazz & Popular Music Summer Live 2026.”

The organizers asked us to build a set around city pop, so I put together a program inspired by Japanese city pop and AOR.

Alongside my original composition “Hotel Intergate,” we performed “What You Won’t Do for Love,” “Someday,” “Music Book,” “This Masquerade,” “Machi no Dolphin,” and “How Deep Is Your Love,” adding jazz arrangements and improvisation along the way.

The repertoire was a little different from my usual jazz performances, but the audience and students gave us such a warm welcome. It was a wonderful time on stage.

Thank you to everyone who came, to the fantastic musicians who joined me, and to everyone involved in making the event happen!
